ACCESIBILITY STATEMENT AND FAQ

ACCESIBILITY AT CSCW 2026

We wish to make the CSCW26 program accessible to everyone with disabilities. We have compiled an FAQ (below) to provide information for our attendees with disability-related needs. If you cannot find the information you need in the FAQ below, please contact the Accessibility Chairs at accessibility2026@cscw.acm.org.
Out of respect for people with multiple chemical sensitivities, please refrain from using scented products when attending this event.

HOW DO I COMMUNICATE ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS TO EVENT ORGANIZERS?

Accessibility needs are best communicated through the conference registration form under the question, “Do you have a disability or special need that requires our awareness?” If you have additional needs that were not specified during the registration process, please contact the Accessibility Chairs, Patrick Carrington and Matthieu Tixier, as soon as possible at accessibility2026@cscw.acm.org.

GETTING THERE

The conference venue is located in the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek, nearby City Center Subway station (Blue line and Green line).

ACCESSIBILITY OF CONFERENCE VENUE

The conference venue is wheelchair accessible and accessible for power scooters. The security guards can provide assistance when needed. Pictures and the overall floor plans of Salt Lake Marriott Downtown City Creeks can be found here.

RESTROOM FACILITIES

The restrooms are on the same level as the meeting rooms.

GUIDE DOGS AND SERVICE ANIMALS

It is possible to bring guide dogs. Service Animals are welcome without a fee or documentation.

WALKING AND STANDING

Coffee breaks will involve standing. The amount of walking depends on which sessions you attend.

PERSONAL INTERPRETERS

We aim to provide sufficient space and light for the participants’ personal interpreters. Please contact the Accessibility Chairs if you are accompanied by a personal interpreter so we can ensure to provide appropriate light: accessibility2026@cscw.acm.org.

WILL MASKS BE REQUIRED AT THE EVENT?

No, masks are not required but attendees may wear masks if they choose. Please bring your own mask as the conference will not have masks to provide to attendees.

WHAT IF I HAVE A MEDICAL EMERGENCY OR HEALTH PROBLEM DURING THE EVENT?

In an emergency, you can call 911 for immediate assistance.
