From evaluating novel approaches to virtual interaction, to studying coordination challenges of a global, virtual conference, and everything in between, there is much to be learned. If you have ideas or plans for research at or on CSCW, the organizing committee wants to hear about it, so we can help figure out the best way to make it happen.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6199724 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6199724\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\"><p><b>We are calling for studies you\/your team want to execute at, around, or about CSCW 2021<\/b>. This year\u2019s Meta Co-chairs will help research teams figure out the best way to make their study work as part of the larger conference experience and facilitate access to participants, so we want to hear from you ASAP. <i>If you have any questions, an early-stage\/partially designed study, or want to discuss ideas, please email <a href=\"mailto:meta2021@cscw.acm.org\">meta2021@cscw.acm.org<\/a><\/i>. If you have an idea ready to go, you can simply register it with the conference via the CSCW 2021 research registration form (<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/Tw9W7KJPU9tktdR58\">https:\/\/forms.gle\/Tw9W7KJPU9tktdR58<\/a>), and the Meta co-chairs will follow up with you. <strong>All projects must be submitted by July 30, 2021<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4890c40 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4890c40\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\"><p><b>IMPORTANT: all research projects at\/around the conference must be approved by the Meta co-chairs.<\/b> Meta will monitor ethical approval\/research conduct, facilitate smooth deployment, and identify any conflicting\/overlapping projects in service of suggesting and enabling broader research partnerships. All research at\/around the conference must also follow three basic guidelines:<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6eb22a8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6eb22a8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\"><ul>\n<li>All projects involving human subjects must have ethical approval or a specific designation as exempt from the project lead\u2019s ethics review committee or equivalent for any human research.<\/li>\n<li>Before the conference, each project must provide an overall ethics statement, including research involving public social media data. Your ethics statement should include information on the risks to participants and the CSCW community, your plan to protect confidentiality and participant data (if applicable), and your plan to ensure fully informed consent. If the Meta chairs have questions about your statement, they will reach out to the primary contact on the project.<\/li>\n<li>All results and (if practical) data collected at CSCW should benefit the CSCW community directly. Any papers written from conference research must be submitted to CSCW as a first target venue (if appropriate for publication at CSCW), and we highly encourage submitting early results or practical demonstrations to next year\u2019s posters and demos tracks.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-summary\">\nCall for Studies As CSCW will be all-online again this year, we have a unique opportunity to study many topics our community cares about, right at our own conference.
